Prestressed concrete elements
Prestressed Concrete Elements are pre-compressed concrete.; which means compressive stress is applied to a concrete element, prior to beginning its working life. They are typically positioned in areas where tensile stress will develop under a working load.
Exeed Precast team can design and install entire structures, including schools, factories, multi-story carparks, tunnel roofs, bridges, etc. using prestressed columns, beams, girders, and slabs.
Prestressed Concrete elements are made in our special 100 m long pre-stressing beds, where reinforcement is made using 7 wire low relaxation strands that are tensioned individually between two abutments, using a special hydraulic jack, at our Exeed Precast Factory in ICAD 2.
Advantages of using Exeed Precast prestressed concrete elements:
- High load capacity
- Long Spans – Exeed Precast Factory can produce long sans for prestressed girders, single aDouble T beams.
- Lightweight – It contributes to the reduction of the structure’s self-weight, thereby reducing the lateral load resisting system
- Time Saving – No time is wasted waiting for elements to gain strength in comparison to regular concrete elements. Also, production at Exeed Precast factory can be done simultaneously with construction on site.
- Economical Solution – Prestressed elements require less concrete to meet load requirements.
- No Formwork required
